Caterpillar Signs Contract with Panama

In an article today in Panama's newspaper La Prensa it confirms that Caterpillar has signed a contract with the Panamanian government to make Panama their Latin American headquarters. Panama's president Martin Torrijos attended the ceremony yesterday were the contract was signed in which the state is selling Caterpillar 100 hectares of property in the AAEEPP - The Panama Pacific Special Economic Area, which is an area that has been appointed for the development of businesses in the old Howard Airforce base. The AAEEPP will be offering business many incentives to set up shop in the area.

Caterpillar firmó contrato con Panamá SEDE REGIONAL. La compañía Caterpillar, que fabrica maquinaria pesada para la construcción, instalará su sede latinoamericana en Panamá, con una inversión de 25 millones de dólares y la proyección de generar ingresos y empleo para unas 300 personas, informó la Presidencia. El gobernante, Martín Torrijos, participó ayer de la firma del contrato en el que el Estado vende a Caterpillar 100 hectáreas de terreno en el área Económica Especial Panamá Pacífico (AAEEPP), para que dicha compañía se instale allí, a orillas del Canal interoceánico.
