New Airport for Panama's Beaches

Aeronautics Authority, Zósimo Guard identified the Rio Hato airfield in
the province of Cocle, as the best alternative for the construction of
the third international airport in Panama. Guardia, who presented his proposal
at the Tourism Commission of the Panamanian Association of Business
Executives (APED), said that rehabilitation may have a cost of $ 44
million and that the airport would be able to receive Boeing 737 and
flying charters, "according to a communique sent by APEDE. The rehabilitation of the runway, according to Guard, would take three
years, while construction of a new airport would mean six to seven. This project, one of the demands of the Tour, it would
allow tourists to disembark at a place close to the arch and dry
beaches Coclé avoiding transfers from the airport of Tocumen.
